Meg Bye: Making Minnesota Work Again!

Meg Bye has lived in Northern Minnesota for more than 40 years. She loves our state and its people – its farmers, workers, school teachers, and families. She knows the value of hard work, and she knows that we can accomplish more when we work together. She knows that Minnesotans have shared values that transcend party lines. We want to build a better life for our kids; we want to preserve our woodlands, streams and lakes. We want a robust economy that will provide good jobs for all who need them.

Meg Bye is convinced that we can restore our beloved state to its glory days – when public officials worked together to accomplish these things for their constituents.

Meg has worked successfully with people from all parties in the public and private sector to build a better future for our citizens. She has been a classroom teacher; a mediator; the executive director of a regional non-profit food bank and the administrator of a large city human rights enforcement office. She served 12 years as a city council member. She has worked for the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S Office of Economic Opportunity. She has also served the State of Minnesota as a director of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, the Governor's Crime Commission, and The Labor Interpretative Center.

Meg was the first woman president of the Minnesota League of Cities and served on the board of the National League of Cities. In addition, she has served as president and board member of several non-profit organizations providing services to people with disabilities, at-risk children, and the hungry.

She is currently a proud member of Ducks Unlimited, the Pine River Watershed Alliance Board, the Pequot Women's Club and Team Teal of the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.

Meg lives with Don, her husband of 40 years, on the family's farmstead, homesteaded by Don's grandfather in 1896 in Loon Lake Township near Pequot Lakes. Their son Dan and his family, Vanessa, Ayden and baby Gena live near them on the old farm.
